I am honored to introduce to you the first guest blogger in my new #guestblogger series! She is a good friend of mine with an amazing spirit and blog of her own, so read on to be just as inspired as me!
Guest Blogger: Nate [25, VA]
Let’s see….I’ve just hit my mid twenties. I love God. I dabble in music, makeup and hair. Choosing what to wear still trips me up at times. I love genuinely nice, sweet people. Laughing is my favorite hobby. My blog is where I share with you some of the fun and not so fun moments in my life. It’s a place where I can be sincere or honest about what I encounter and learn.
“You know what?! You are absolutely right!! I will!!” walks off triumphantly
“Why didn’t anyone tell me this before?!” looks at friends unsympathetically
I meant to write a post about it that very day but became “fake busy” and forgot. You know how that goes. Then earlier this week I saw it again on Pinterest and I knew that I just had to share it with you all.
How perfect is this quote?!
I have no problem admitting that it’s tough to remain content with what I presently have in my life, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. (Seriously, who does that?!) Even with all the blessings that I have staring me right in the face, sometimes I just want the things I see.
Whenever I’m feeling a little blue I repeat this quote to myself and it often helps me to just sit, breathe, and see the beauty in all that I have right now in my life. It reminds me that if I take the time to love and nurture the gifts I have now, where I am now, then my life or my “grass” will be greener.
If you’re feeling a bit melancholy about what you see for yourself and you’re thinking “if I could just have some of what he/she has then life would be better”… just stop. Just stop and remember to water your own grass. Remember to love the blessings that God has given to you. Remember to smile and be thankful for every good thing that you have. Be content with what is yours as you grow your grass. Today can be the day you choose love your life. Water your grass and it will become greener!
Hebrews 13:5 “…..and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
