Before we get into my 6 tips, I want to go ahead and share a little backstory.
Growing up, my family had a few Christian values, but none of us truly understood what it took to be a follower of God. We are learning together that a lot goes into being a Christian.
So as a young girl without many Christian values, you can only imagine the kind of trouble and pain that I have gone through.
I feel my calling is that I am supposed to share my testimony to help younger girls or any age women navigate through life as a Christian woman.

Have A Relationship With The Lord
This tip is number 1 on the list since it is the most important. If you don’t have a relationship with the Lord, you are missing out! The Lord has completely changed my life, and I know he can do the same for you.
When having a relationship with the Lord, you must spend time with him daily, which you can do by being in his word.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Joshua 1:8
There is this saying that I love, and it goes like “When we are hungry, we feed our bodies with food, morning, afternoon, and night. When our spirit is hungry, we should treat it the same way by being with God and diving into His word morning, noon, and night.”

Community
As you grow closer to God, you should get involved in a community. (I recommend a church first and foremost).
If you don’t belong to a church, I highly recommend researching your local churches and reading about their beliefs. Once you find the church that fits your Christian beliefs and values, join and get involved.
I will give you a hint when looking at and deciding on what church to go to. I won’t tell you what domination to go to, but I will advise you to find a church that teaches the Christian bible. Find a church that talks about the WHOLE Bible.

A lot of churches nowadays preach only the feel-good things. Some of the Bible should feel offensive or convicting when reading it. That is the only way we will know how to learn and grow as Christians in the way God would want us to.
2 Timothy 3: 16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
God gave us the whole Bible, so why would we only listen to some parts and not others?
After you have found a church, I suggest finding a group of women to learn and grow with.
Community plays a vital role. We are not meant to be alone. Everything in this world revolves around relationships.
Having a Christian community that will support you in your walk with Christ benefits your growth as a Christian.

Bible Studies
Whether you like to study alone or in groups, every Christian should be studying the Bible.
If you are intimidated by how to read or study the Bible, click on this blog post, where I go into detail and talk about some methods to read and study the Bible.
I linked below a few bible studies from an author that I really enjoy. She walks you through bible passages and gives you tools on how to study the Bible.
If you prefer to study in a group, find a group that suits your needs/interests. For example, my husband and I joined a marriage bible study at our church. On Sundays, I joined a college/young adult group.
Studying in a group can help you learn from other people’s perspectives. It is fascinating to see how different people interpret the bible passage.
Others can show you things that you may have never thought about.

Serving
Serving is a must when learning to become a godly woman. Jesus is the perfect example of a servant’s heart.
Jesus taught us that even though he is the king, he is a king that serves his people. In John 13, Jesus washes his disciples’ feet and teaches them how to serve others.
As Christians, we are to practice becoming more like Jesus every day. We are to follow his teachings.
43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Matthew 10: 43-45
If you don’t know where to serve in your church, ask around and see what areas need help. If your church is like mine, they have mission fairs with booths in all the locations our community can serve.
I recommend taking a spiritual gift test if you have many options and still don’t know where you would fit best. I will link a spiritual gift test here.
The spiritual gift test will ask you multiple questions, and you must decide how much you resonate with that specific category.
At the end of the questionnaire, it will tally up your answers and show you your strongest spiritual gift to your lowest gift.
For example, my strongest gift is mercy. This gift makes sense because I love and enjoy working with kids. I forgive others easily most of the time too.
After you take your test, it will help you decipher what area you might serve best.
Serving is not only to be done in the church, but it is to be done in your daily life.

Practicing Godly Characteristics
There are some characteristics of women in the Bible that we should be practicing today in the modern world.
1.Supportive, Not Jealous
When becoming a Godly woman, we should be supportive of other women. We should encourage them as sisters in Christ.
Us supporting other women is not something the devil wants. That’s why he is working so hard at destroying each other.
2.Confident, Not Insecure
As I said above, it is very common for us girls to compare ourselves to others. With social media constantly shoving what people think women should look like in our faces, it is tough not to feel insecure.
We are called to have confidence in the Lord and who he says that we are. Don’t mistake confidence and vanity. These are two very different things I explained in my blog post mentioned earlier.
3.Gentle, Not Angry
Anger should not be a characteristic that overwhelms or consumes anybody. If you struggle with anger, that is okay! Talk to God and pray for a gentle spirit. Ask Him to help you take steps toward becoming more gentle.
When we speak or act out in anger, we can hurt those close to us, even others who aren’t as close. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, James 1:19-20

4.Modest Is Hottest
Practicing modesty is a significant role for women. When we dress a certain way, we give others an impression we may not want to give off. As women in Christ, we should consider how we dress and how it may affect the men around us.
Now I will say that it is not just our part to take into, but the males’ role is to practice self-control and not give in to temptations. But we cannot control what others do, so we must ensure we do our part.
5.Humbleness and Kindness
Just like Tim McGraw said, “Always stay humble and kind.” We should be practicing humility before God. If you don’t know what that means, never think of yourself in a position higher than you are. When talking about yourself, make sure it is genuine and not embellished to make you sound better.
Humility is a big part of the Christian world. We need to go before God and be able to confess our sins and know where we fall short. Also, we should practice being kind and compassionate. We are to become more like Jesus every day, and Jesus is the kindest and most compassionate there is.
Be sure that when you are talking to somebody or about somebody, you are not gossiping. Make sure you use kind and uplifting words.

Learn The Role Of Women In The Bible
In the beginning, God created all living things. On the 6th day, he made man. That man’s name is Adam. When God looked at Adam, He said, for the first time, that his creation was not good. God said that it wasn’t good that he created Adam alone, so He decided to make a helper for him.
7 Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the groundand breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2: 7
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 2: 18
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g]and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Genesis 2 :21-22
The Lord took one of Adam’s ribs from his side, took some dirt, and made a Woman. He made a Woman out of Adam and named her Eve. God created Eve to be Adam’s helper.
Notice how God took Adam’s rib from his SIDE. Eve was made out of Adam’s rib. Now the reason I emphasize this is that we were created equally, not above and not below. God loves us all equally.
God made us equal in His image but gave us different roles. Men are created for a specific purpose, just as women are created for a particular purpose.
Adam was created to tend to the earth and all its living things. Eve was designed to be a helper. The land was theirs to care for together. Another role of theirs is to be fruitful and multiply.
How can we still live out those roles in today’s modern world? In a perfect world, it would be one straight and to-the-point answer, but we live in a broken world, so things are not the same as they were when creation took place.
One popular way for some women to live up to their roles is while their husbands go off to work to provide for their family with money, the wife stays home and provides differently for her family.
It could be raising your kids in the way of the Lord and learning how to become a homemaker by providing food for your family, a comfortable and safe home for your family, and more.
As a woman, Mary had the most incredible privilege of the birth of Jesus, the savior of the world! Think about it this way; she couldn’t have done it if she was a man.
God chose women for the role of birth. We are chosen to be part of an absolute miracle. To have the privilege to create and bring life into this world gives me goosebumps!
